Noelle Neff Shares the Most Beautiful Photo Spots in Switzerland

August 16, 2017

I am so excited to share these gorgeous photo spots in Switzerland! Switzerland is an enchanting country, full of charming historical architecture and magnificent scenery. The mountains of Switzerland are some of the most dramatic natural beauty that I have ever seen, and I have traveled quite a bit! These six photo spots are only the beginning when it comes to finding beauty in Switzerland!

The Peaks Surrounding Interlaken

Interlaken is a town that offers many opportunities for photographing the gorgeous, rocky peaks of three surrounding mountains. The mountains, Eger, Jungfrau, and Mönch are steep and much more jagged than the average mountain vista of the United States. Photographs that highlight the sunlight playing off their rocky slopes will be sure to impress anyone who has never visited Switzerland themselves! I recommend early morning and late evening pictures of these mighty mountains so that you can play with dramatic lighting!

The Shores of Luzern

The city of Luzern is unique, and it is one of the best places to take stunning photographs. For one thing, the architecture is medieval, which is highly decorative and intricate. In addition, the city is located on Lake Lucerne, which is a deep blue body of water that reflects the cities lights in a way that is begging to be photographed. The whole city is situated among the gorgeous snow-capped mountains that people often associate with Switzerland, and the overall effect is very representative of the country.

The Streets of Bern

The beautifully cobbled streets of the capital city of Switzerland lend themselves to sweet shots of a city life that evoke feelings of timelessness. The historical architecture and the way that the streets bend in uneven ways make for captivating photographs.

Gasthaus Aescher-Wildkirchli

This guesthouse is nestled into the side of an imposing cliff. You must climb up what feels like millions of stairs in order to reach this welcoming destination. The food is amazing, and the photographic opportunities abound! When you photograph this unique building make sure to take an angle which will show the massive vertical height of the cliff just behind it.

Saut du Doubs

This spot is so full of natural beauty that it is almost indescribable. There is a cruise available through the canyons that I highly recommend. Waterfalls, steep canyon walls, and rushing water surround you where you take in your surroundings.

St. Ursaine Cathedral

This historical site offers so much material for taking striking photos. The architecture is medieval, with strong vertical parallel lines and several spherical portions which create balance. As you enter the cathedral you are given the opportunity to photography sculptural elements and fascinating painted details. You can point the camera up at the ceiling and archways to capture geometric designs and playful perspectives. One of my favorite aspects of this cathedral is the gorgeous trees outside. I am not sure what kind of trees they are, but when they are in blossom they are full of gorgeous flowers! This surprise made this site even more visually spectacular.
